I am a practicing psychotherapist with over fifty years of experience, still actively seeing patients in the San Diego area. I currently specialize in those needing treatment for long-term care, chronic conditions, and PTSD.

I returned to my roots in writing Connections. I expanded upon the developmental frameworks I taught in my UCSD courses; my students encouraged me to adapt these core psychological constructs into a matrix encompassing my other passions, like physics and spirituality. I believe we need an ongoing inner Renaissance if we hope to spark one in the wider world.

Baseball Confidential

Baseball Confidential is a revealing look at behind the scenes communication between players, coaches, and managers at all levels of baseball. The book consists of stories and interviews with former players, coaches, and managers mostly at the Major League Baseball level.

This book is written for baseball fans. Every fan wants to know what is said on the mound, in the locker room, behind closed doors and more. With my exposures to coaches, players and fans that is all brought to light in Baseball Confidential. Readers are invited to come behind the closed doors.

The book reveals many funny and good stories related to the mentioned, behind-the-scenes communication. This is a baseball book that includes what coaches say to players: to pitchers on mound visits, pre- and post-game pep talks, and more.

Addiction: From the Other Side

Have you ever felt like you are all alone and like no one understands what you are going through? I have felt this way for my entire adult life because I have been dealing with a loved one being addicted to opiates. Out of nowhere, the love of my life, the man I had been with for 12 years died multiple times in front of my eyes. I had no understanding of why. I thought, “why me?” I have repeatedly asked myself, “If I had known the signs, would it have changed the outcome?”

Life is short, and trying to understand and be open to the idea that this epidemic is still around us may just save somebody’s life and help others. It is time to speak out and not be silent anymore. This does not have to be the end. It just has to be the end of the problem, and the beginning of the solution. I want to help people who are also battling opiate addiction in a loved one, and to let them know that they are not alone. There are many ways to get through it.

A Man's World

A Man’s World tells the tragic story of the Martins, a family destroyed by domestic abuse and its shattering consequences. This vivid portrayal of domestic turmoil illustrates how dysfunction can rob even the most innocent of fulfilling lives, asking where the bystanders were who could have made a difference.

It opens as teenagers Janet and Craig find young love before Craig shows his dark side at the senior prom. Their toxic relationship spirals into a marriage as cruel and domineering as Janet’s own parents. The story bears witness to the terror in which Janet, Craig, and their three children live under Craig’s dictatorship. They could have been a family who played ballgames and went on picnics; instead, they endured Craig’s insatiable thirst for control until it ultimately killed him.

Emerging from the wreckage is a very different Katie than the carefree little girl she once was. Tormented by her father and neglected by her mother, Craig’s behavior molded Katie into a resentful woman obsessed with revenge against domineering men. To prevent others from suffering her mother’s fate, Katie will go to any length necessary… even kill.
